The day Mathieu was let go, LSU coach Les Miles said the move was permanent, and Athletic Director Joe Alleva reiterated that Mathieu had lost the privilege to be a student-athlete at LSU. ... On Tuesday, Miles made Mathieu's possible seem very realistic during a television and radio interview with ESPN personalities Scott Van Pelt and Ryen Russillo. When asked whether the Tigers' former All-American and Heisman Trophy finalist might have a happy ending at LSU, Miles was semi-cryptic, maybe prophetic and just vague enough to get the fan base intrigued. In other words, he was very Miles-like.
