The lockout isn't about money?

08:25 AM ET 10.03 | On the surface, the lockout is a about splitting up a $3.3-billion pie. But if you ask Arthur Schafer -- a professor and director of the University of Manitoba's Centre for Professional and Applied Ethics -- it is also a fascinating morality play. ..."I think it's about honour, a sense of fairness and respect and solidarity. It's a kind of morality play. That might sound absurd and pretentious, but that's how it seems to me. It's the bosses versus the workers. Now, it's true the workers aren't living in hovels with coal in their bath tub. But honour really matters, sometimes more than money. They want a sense that they are respected, not that they are nothing."

I thought we weren't bringing politics in here anymore? I call shenanagins

That notwithstanding, this is as idiotic as I've seen outside of the NY POST.
To try and frame this as a suffering workers struggle is just absurd
And here's a tip...whenever most people say it's not the money, it's the principle? it's the money

Agreed 1000%.

The players want to know they are respected by how much they get paid, so it sure is about money.

Actually I heard a rumor that it's really NOT about money. It's about who gets the best parking spots at the arenas during pre-season. Coudn't settle it...........hence no pre-season. It's a tough issue you gotta admit.

Nope. It's about honor, integrity, tradition and everything that is good and wholesome about this game. Who cares about money, right? ;-)

His post wasn't politics. Politics is the exchange of ideas geared towards improving the society in which the politicians reside. Ideally, it is a process that should be undertaken in a spirit of give and take, compromise and an eye on the ultimate goal of a better society for everyone.

Bless his heart, but what GB's post exemplified was not politics but the mindless ad hominen attacks that masquerades as politics today offered by people with limited intellect whose only way to express their opinions is by throwing out insults, lies and misinformation because they haven't the mental capacity to deal with or process the issues of the day.
