07:59 AM ET 10.04 | With their 13th meeting on hand this weekend, the comparing and contrasting of Peyton Manning and Tom Brady is underway. Manning, 36, is coming off four surgeries to stabilize the nerves in his neck. Manning said in a conference call with Patriots beat reporters Wednesday that he does not have an idea of how much longer he'll be playing, pointing out that the 35-year-old Brady has indicated that he'd like to play until he's 40. "I know Tom has said before how long he wants to play," Manning said. "I don't have that number in mind quite like he does but I still have a passion for it. I still enjoy the preparation, the work of it, the offseason, the Mondays, the Tuesdays, the game-planning. ... It's what I've always loved to do."

Retiring as a multimillionaire before the age of 40, not bad if you can still walk and feed yourself.

Peyton Manning has a better chance of being in the NFL at 40 than Mark Sanchez has of being in the NFL at 30.

Which is all he said he wanted to do in the article. He mentions that Brady has said that he wants to play to 40, but he only says that he wants to play as long as he can.

It's all BS, if Brady really wanted to play that long he would have asked for a longer contract. I think both of them are blowing smoke and that they both have their post nfl career planned out already. One thing that neither of these guys is, is stupid.

I think he's had quite enough of being attacked from all sides. I think he wants to live in California and be a celebrity. Broadcast booth, or even acting.
Face it. You'd keep the sound on for Monday Night Football if they replaced their current clowns with Manning and Brady, wouldn't you?
And a remake of OK Corral with Brady and Manning facing off on Main Street of Tombstone would be a classic.

They both want at least one more ring. And they are both set up for life after football. The Broncos were only talking about a 2-3 year window when they signed Manning. I don't know what the Pats are planning long term, but I'm sure the topic has come up a few times.

In a sport where athletes become "old" so quickly, they should really know better. They haven't the slightest idea what they will feel like (body AND mind) in another 4-5 years.

Manning ought to relize with his neck surgerys he's only a good shot to the upper back away from eating thru a straw the rest of his life, and money is not worth very much then.......

No there's always a place for backup QBs with starting experience hence Jon Kitna and Mark Brunell's long past their prime careers. now if your talking starter then I agree with that post
