Former Michigan quarterback Ryan Mallett is still deciding where to resume his college football career. "We haven't made a decision yet, but everybody and their dog is saying my son has done this or that," Jim Mallett said Monday in an interview with the Associated Press. "I can tell you, we visited Arkansas and we've talked to Texas A&M and Tennessee. But we're not sure what is going on at Tennessee because they hired an offensive coordinator that has run the spread." A source close to the team told the Fayetteville Morning News that Mallett checked into an Arkansas dorm room Monday morning.

Good for him.

Michigan should be fun to watch. This years team minus Henne, Mallett, Hart, Long, Manningham, and Arrington plus a new coach with an entirely new scheme. I forecast losses in their future!!

January 15, 2008  08:53 AM ET

Makes sense. It's his home state and their is no one at QB for him to compete with in 2009.

January 15, 2008  10:51 AM ET

Agreed Hova, makes sense. Too bad he just lost his running game.

Speaking of Arkansas...where did Mitch Mustain chase off to?

January 15, 2008  11:27 AM ET

Actually I think Texas is home state and Mustain went to a California school...USC? UCLA? Can't remember.

January 15, 2008  11:28 AM ET

No it's Arkansas NWPA. He's from Texarkana which is a city that lays on the Texas/Arkansas border. He's from the Arkansas side but he played for a high school that was on the Texas side.

Mustain went to USC. He will have to fight Sanchez for the starter's job.

Tennessee made the right decision. Everything in college seems to be heading towards the spread offense. It only makes sense to hire an offensive coordinator who has knowledge of it.

What happend to UCLA and playing the pro style offense for Neiuhisal?

January 15, 2008  12:13 PM ET

Obvious choice. Brian Brohm is a top 10 pick because of Petrino. Mallett could be as well.

January 15, 2008  12:14 PM ET

Mustain is at USC

January 15, 2008  12:15 PM ET

Gee I will soooo miss BRUNT Musberger callin' him Bigtex

January 15, 2008  02:36 PM ET

Brent Musberger was attacked in his home the other night by Keith Jackson, so you may not see him call a game ever again! I've been waiting for this to happen for years and years. That damn KJ wannabee!

Any real michigan fans want to take a stab at what the team will look like in 2008???

I'd say they might win 5 games.

January 15, 2008  03:04 PM ET

I will say 7

January 15, 2008  03:11 PM ET

RR will not be happy untell he runs all the white boys off the team. I see Michigan becomeing a trash team just like VT,Miami and Florida State. He will being to the team gang bangers potheads and thives. Thank GOD Bo is dead. Michigans greatness is no more thanks RR. GO MICHIGAN STATE.I was a Michigan fan untell he started to run players off, both white and black.
