Rams phasing out Jackson

08:04 AM ET 10.05 | Steven Jackson's days of headlining the St. Louis offense seem to be dwindling. Just as the Rams are embarking on what seems to be a sudden and fascinating football renaissance, Jackson's role is being reduced. ... Jackson has spent his entire career toiling at a near Hall of Fame level on some of the worst teams in the NFL, almost like some gifted blues singer working in anonymity in some out-of-the-way juke joint. He has sacrificed his body, played in wretched systems, endured game after game and season after season of losing, and kept churning out 1,000-yard seasons with amazing regularity. And now, just as the Rams seem to be on the verge of becoming legitimate again, it looks like the franchise might be ready to let him end his career in another town with another team.

Never good when you see a guy on commercials more than you do on the field.

Now that was the kind of Thursday Night Football I like.

Two teams I couldn't care less about, so I can get a good night's sleep.

That will do it for Kolb, he just got reminded that he too can be hurt.

At 29 thats no spring chicken for a running back, but with a team that has a good line and is well balanced in passing and running he could still have a few good years left.
