Howard's Shaq attack

08:07 AM ET 10.05 | The Superman battle has a new chapter, thanks to Dwight Howard hitting back at Shaquille O'Neal on Thursday. It was a predictably messy landing. Howard was not thrilled with O'Neal's assertion that Philadelphia's Andrew Bynum and New Jersey's Brook Lopez were better centers. "I don't care what Shaq says," Howard said flatly after Lakers practice Thursday. "Shaq played the game and he is done. It's time to move on. ... Just let it go. There's no sense for him to be talking trash to me. He did his thing in the league. Sit back and relax. Your time is up." It might be just a bit awkward when O'Neal gets his Lakers jersey retired at halftime of an April 2 game at Staples Center. Howard said he would not try to patch anything up with O'Neal before them.

While Dwight is right, shaq currently is an analyst and its his job to yap. What Dwight should say is "if shaq has any questions about my game, he can come play me one on one anytime anywhere,"

You are right Shaq is an analyst but his words were very bias. You can argue Bynum as having a better offensive game but Lopez....not sure and the fact that he said he would take Lopez over Howard is just plan insanity.

QUOTE(#5):

I'm a Shaq guy myself and I have to agree. He's not making himself look good by constantly yapping about DH... to save any more comparisons, DH should let go over the superman thing. ignore Shaq, don't respond... and yeah, shaq should just talk about the game and let it go... reading up on the subject, it's doesn't look all the too good for shaq. lack of maturity given someone who just retired....

Yeah I like Shaq also but it is getting old.

With the reason why Shaq insist that Howard is not the best center in the game today is reason to believe that Shaq has a very personal point-of-view when it comes to Howard. Ever since the "Superman" logo was attached to Howard's chest Shaq has been on the attack. To suggest that Brook Lopez and Andrew Bynum are better than Howard is really stretching it a bit. Both Lopez and Bynum are no doubt good centers but to be more realistic, Howard is the number one center in the league today. Bynum is second and Lopez is third, Bynum has all the tools to take over the number one center title but that will depend on his focus, on the other hand; Lopez does not rebound, block shots, or defends; so how is he better or even in the conversation?

As many as Shaq had when he went to LA.

And the same as The Mailman and Payton when they joined and left the Lakers

Good for Howard. Shaq puts down anyone he views as a threat to his "legacy." He's always been a very bitter person.
