08:12 AM ET 10.05 | With a disappointing season now complete, will Jeffrey Loria fire Ozzie Guillen? Only Loria knows. As Guillen left on a vacation to Spain after the Marlins concluded a dismal last-place season, an ESPN reporter Thursday wrote on Twitter that the Marlins were "aggressively" searching for a replacement. ... That report was not confirmed by any other media outlet. According to Miami Herald sources, Loria is mulling a decision on whether to fire Guillen. It was Loria who not only traded two minor-league players to the Chicago White Sox to obtain Guillen, but also then gave him a team-record four-year deal worth $10???million. Loria commanded a year ago that Guillen be hired.

In reality, they really need each other.

Let me amend that comment. They deserve each other.

So... Who gets more Blame?

Bobby in Beantown? Or Ozzie with the Fish?

October 5, 2012  09:38 AM ET

It is easy to blame the Oz for all of the troubles the Fish had this year, but let us not forgot about all of the high price free agents they brought in and Loria signed off on them and they were all bust.

Ownership seems to have had a hand in the failures of both franchises.

For hiring their respective Managers? :-)

As far as Ownership goes - I think the Marlins pushed the Panic button way too early (exasperating the issue cause by very Poor FA signings).

The Sox needed to get a Manager to stop the bleeding that started in the Clubhouse last season... Valentine was not even close to that guy.

Face it they were both bad moves. I still don't understand why MLB thinks either of these guys was manager material in the 1st place especially Mr Politically Correct Guillen I believe the place for him is the Venezuelan Winter Leagues

The two idiots that hired them.

Exacerbating.

The Marlins didn't hit the panic button too early. It was their plan from the start.
A.) Get a new stadium
B.) Sign a bunch of free agents for a lot of money
C.) Sell record numbers of season tickets.
D.) At the first sign of a bad season, cut as much payroll as possible and start "rebuilding".

Jeffery Loria does it again. It's incredible. He is the least respected figure in all of sports.

Is there a bigger idiot than Guillen?

- The Castro comments might have been the stupidest thing he could have possibly done. Like, if you had asked a bunch of people to write a list of "the stupidest things a public figure could do in Miami" that would grade out at #1.
- Then Yunel Escobar puts a homophobic slur on his eye-black, and Ozzie feels the need to DEFEND him. HE'S NOT EVEN A PLAYER ON YOUR TEAM, AND HE'S IN TROUBLE FOR BEING AN IDIOT. And his defense of this guy is "my kids say that all the time. " Congrats Ozzie, you're raising homophobic idiots just like you.

Alienating Cubans and Gays in South Florida is a great first couple steps to being jobless.

I'm sure his next step will be to write an open letter to the Miami Herald about how much he dislikes old Jewish people and the Miami Heat.

What an idiot.

I am suprised that Valentine won the race of getting fired before Ozzie. BTW, are these guys twins?

ozzie guillen needs to stop and get fired himself,,, there is nothing else to do with the fish,,,

October 5, 2012  05:13 PM ET

wiseup:Ozzie will be next year what Valentine was this year. Loria will blame Guillen for the continued failures next year. Guillen will blame coaches and players and Loria. Everybody but himself. Loria and Guillen deserve each other. The players and the fans dont deserve this. The fans can always quit coming. Theres a much better team on the west side of Florida.
