Texas now armed for Saturday shootout

08:18 AM ET 10.05 | Some had wondered where Jaxon Shipley had gone -- but no more. After grabbing three touchdown passes in Texas' 41-36 victory at Oklahoma State, everyone knew where Shipley was firmly ensconced among a large group of talented skill-position players who have transformed the Longhorns' offense from the plodding unit of the post-Colt McCoy era into an exciting ensemble that's scoring 47.3 points a game, which is Texas' highest since the 2005 national championship team's 50.2 norm. ... It's going to be a tall order to keep second-year coach Dana Holgorsen's offense contained for a Texas defense that has been unexpectedly vulnerable so far. So the offense will need all hands on deck in the not-unlikely event of a shootout.

Did they not have arms before?

Lou Holtz actually made a pretty funny remark when they were doing the highlights of the WV-Baylor game. "Hey, it isn't against the rules to use your arms to tackle!"

Nope, Austin's east of the Pecos River. Stuff like that is only allowed west of the Pecos.

Can't wait to see the patented Mack Brown "Squat-n-Clap" on Saturday. Win or lose, the "Squat-n-Clap" is always entertaining.
