NFL to investigate bounty-gate style rhetoric by Titans

03:39 PM ET 10.05 | The NFL has launched a formal investigation to get to the bottom of comments made by Tennessee Titans defensive coordinator Jerry Gray, after Gray reportedly told his players to play with reckless abandon and not fret the fear of consequences that might come with such ferocious play. The league has been on a manhunt to eliminate destructive and devastating hits from the game, and after this summer's bounty-gate scandal that manhunt has turned into a full fledged crusade. The NFL also has keen interest in Gray as he formerly coached under Gregg Williams, the anti-christ like figure at the epicenter of the scandal.

Absolutely! Hey Roger, FYI, it's the hard hitting in this game that MAKES IT FOOTBALL! The players did self-policing for dirty players for a long time and it worked pretty well. You can't force football players to stop playing hard any more than you can force politicians to be honest.

He told the reporters that he told his players he want them to hit oppoenents so hard the opposinng players would have to be carted off. Not Phi Beta Kappa. many coaches tell their players similar things. The problem is he told this to a reporter, which basically is an invitation to Goodell get in his teams's business. Dumb.
