04:51 PM ET 10.05 | A lot of the focus and scrutiny in Dallas' 2-2 start has been on Dez Bryant, the troubled young receiver with so much upside but falling short of his potential. When Dallas acquired Dez by trading up in the Draft to get him, they thought they had a star, and possibly the next great receiver to wear the Star. So when they assigned him the famous #88 jersey, they were letting it be known what kind of player they thought they had and their hopes and aspirations for him.

Can't argue with Drew. He doesn't deserve the number.

Potential seems to be all I ever hear about this guy. Has he ever performed to his "potential"? When does it become clear that the guy is stupid and immature with bad hands?

If they can't get the right QB, what makes anyone think they can get the right receiver???

Usually when a top five talent drops all the way out of the top twenty selections, there's valid reason.

It was one missed route call....maybe a couple of weeks from now he'll be back in the good books. (if his babysitters don't look away)

Drew Pearson: 88 doesn't fit Dez BryantIf Drew is right, Dez needs to get a size that fits.

The bench might be the right size. He needs a mentor.

If you don't count the missed route turned game losing interception to Darrelle Revis last year. And virtually every game in between.

Potential is the distance between what you could be... and where you actually are.

I am impressed he's still on the team though. I expected him to be the second coming of Pacman Jones. He's exceeded my expectations... off the field.
