Player agents feuding with Dolphins

08:37 AM ET 10.06 | The Dolphins are feuding with prominent NFL agents John Rickert and Peter Schaffer, who filed a grievance against the Dolphins with the players association this week because Miami is refusing to pay guard Artis Hicks' $1.2 million salary. The Dolphins claim Hicks, their first offseason signing, did not disclose a pre-existing neck condition. Hogwash, his agents says. Hicks was released last week. Will the agents steer players away from Miami now? Rickert said "if this is the type of treatment" players get, "it would definitely enter our thinking."

When agents lose their commish, in this case about $50,000, they do get active. And once this case is settled, Hicks will be on his own.

My take on it is...........Every player is required to take a physical prior to being signed by a team. It is also my belief that most teams have their own physicians conduct the physical. Now base on this, I say if a team physician conducts a physical and fail to identifty injuries because of either overlooking something, or because of gross incompetence, its the teams fault and not the signee's fault. Base upon this, it is my opinon that the NFL commissioner's office should take immediate action and force the team to pay the contract player. It is also noted that you've had instances where teams have denied payment to coaches based largely upon their own assessement, and rather erroneously. Of course, that won't happen because these teams own the commissner.
