It figures this garbage would come out of Chicago. They didn't have the decency to give the kid his at-bat but will sure-as-hell job him- again!
A Seriously screwed up organization.

So...
This kid gets HBP in his 1st Major League AB and it unfortunately puts him out of the game.
But he's got a 1.000 OBP and is the answer to a Trivia question.
After this, atleast he's got a Batting average... Too bad it 0.000 :-)

A Chicago newspaper is talking about the Florida Marlins giving an at-bat to a young man, where the pitcher was a NY Met and they (Chicago) decided that a Dodger got screwed?
WTH?

Or...Kershaw's hip injury that caused him to push back and ultimately lose a start caused it, but that wouldn't be nearly as newsworthy.

The baseball writers there have nothing else to write about because the Cubs were out of it by the Fourth and Sox went into a dump and gave away the division to the Tigers.

I tried to link to the story to find out if this came from the organization or the newspaper--but you have to register to read the story, as though the Tribune is some sort of lethal weapon. But the excerpt sounds as though it was the reporter's story, not something released by the Cubs. This time we should be blaming the media.

It came from Phil Rogers - does that answer your question? Here's the entire article called "Baseball Whispers"
Add Clayton Kershaw to the list of those who should have been offended when the Marlins gave Adam Greenberg an at-bat. R.A. Dickey, who struck out Greenberg on three pitches, won the strikeout title over Kershaw by one 230-229. ???
If MLB had not added a second wild card for this season, the Orioles and Rangers would have played a one-game playoff for the wild-card spot, with the winner advancing to face the Yankees. The only difference with the new format was both teams could say they made the postseason. ???
The Blue Jays appear willing to let the Red Sox have manager John Farrell if they provide player compensation. Tigers bench coach Gene Lamont, one of the finalists last year, is another possibility, with Jason Varitek a long shot. ???
Mike Lowell is receiving serious consideration from the Marlins, who appear to be leaning toward firing Ozzie Guillen. Owner Jeffrey Loria postponed a scheduled staff meeting Thursday until Oct. 25, seemingly to resolve the issue of what to do with Guillen. Loria could force him to fire Joey Cora as bench coach in the hope that Guillen would walk away from the $7.5 million left on his contract rather than sack a friend. ???
It's fair to say the Angels didn't expect Albert Pujols to give them the worst year of his career in Year 1 of a 10-year deal, but that's what happened. While Pujols finished strong, he wound up at .285 with 30 homers, which has to be alarming. ???
Two pitchers who could be on the Cubs' free-agent radar: Ervin Santana and Shaun Marcum. ???
The Angels are expected to make a serious attempt to keep Zack Greinke. But smart money says he joins the Braves, who tried hard to trade for him. ???
The Cubs' streak of not being no-hit passed the 7,500 mark in the final series of the season. But will it make it through next year? ???
Who had the most infield hits in the majors this year? That would be the Yankees' 38-year-old Derek Jeter with 40. ???
Davey Johnson joins Billy Martin as the only managers to take four teams to the postseason. ???
What does Adam Dunn have in common with Hall of Famer Billy Williams? They're among 15 big-leaguers to hit 400-plus homers without leading their league. ???
Justin Verlander gave Miguel Cabrera an inscribed watch for winning the Triple Crown. It would have been a great novelty if Josh Hamilton had homered twice in Game 162. ???
The Nationals' playoff appearance means the Royals have the longest postseason drought of any of America's top team sports. The Kansas City Star reports that 121 MLB, NFL, NBA and NHL teams have played postseason games since the Royals' last appearance in 1985. ???
Ryan Braun admits he was on a crusade to match his 2011 MVP stats, which were put up under the cloud of a positive result for performance-enhancing drugs, later thrown out. He carried that off well, as his .986 OPS was only eight points off last year's. ???
The Tigers won the AL Central while spending less time in first place (34 days) than the White Sox (118 days) and Indians (38).

kershaw wasn't affected by any player in the amount of strikes numbers, rather he affect his own misfortune by not been able to strike a little more players than RA dickey,,,,

Wonder if the Chicago Cubs will invite Adam Greenberg to Spring Training and give him a shot at a Roster spot... Greenberg couldn't produce any less than the Cubs regulars did in 2012... Cubs could sure use a Leadoff man and outfielder in 2013
