Great and talented pitcher............too bad he always so undecided in what league he wants to play in, what city he wants to play in, whether or not he likes where he's playin and so on.....and that could be bad for him. Pick a team, sign a contract, play it out, and...be happy!

The Angels will have a month to sign him after the season is over, their biggest problem is whether to keep Haren and Santana, dump them, or try to sign Greinke to a long tern contract.

It looks like Bad Luck Follows this Guy, maybe he should pitch in Japan?

wiseup:Greinke would fit in well in Cincinnati in the rotation with Cueto and Latos. Arroyo 's contract is up after this year. Would the Reds make an offer for Greinke? Only time will tell.

I don't get the hype on this guy. He can only pitch in a quiet place with a small crowd, and only then if he's vibing with it or whatever ridiculous surfer/slacker jargon he uses. This is NOT the guy you want to give the ball to with your season on the line or in front of 70,000 in Game 7. Any more than 20,000 in the house and he goes mental. He should pitch in Pittsburgh or Houston where nobody gives a damn. Then he can go the quietest 20-8 in history and fool everyone into thinking he's a quality pitcher. Fer crissakes...Milwaukee and Kansas City overwhelmed him. You want him to pitch in a pennant race in a big market?

The Chicago Tribune is busy this morning. Greinke has been pretty stable, at least in terms of location. He played 6 years with the Royals before they traded him to Milwaukee. He was finishing his contract with Milwaukee before they traded him to LA. His contract is now up, and he can probably choose among several offers.
Until a player has "10 & 5," 10 years in MLB and 5 with the same team, the club has most of the power while he is under contract. They can put an offer sheet in front of the player and say "sign here or we will ship your ass to Milwaukee or LA or somewhere," and the player either signs or learns a new zip code. Now that he is a free agent, the power balance shifts to Greinke.

I don't see him being a big upgrade over what is already in Atlanta.

I dont see this. Braves are loaded with starting pitching. Medlen, Hudson, Delgado, Teheran, Hanson, Minor, and Beachy later in the year. Only way this happens is if they trade some starting pitching to get Chippers replacement. Only other postion I want to see changed is Dan Uggla, and I think they are stuck with his janky ass. I dont think the Braves will look much different next year.

The Braves could certainly sign Greinke, then trade a young pitcher or two for an OF or a 3B. OFs are a lot easier to come by, so that would probably be their intent. Also, they will have to sign Bourn, or find a replacement.

Didnt think about Bourn being a FA. I love Bourn alot, but he strikes out a little much for a lead off guy for me. I would love to see Jose Constanza have a shot at a full season for the Braves.

Don't see the Reds being a player. They'll have a hard time keeping their own team together. Sad reality of baseball. Small market team develops talent. Small market team contends for a few years. Small market team's stars go free agent and sign with big market teams. Small market teams start over.

I'm a big time Ranger fan and I'm coming out of morning to make this comment. I was at the a recent Angels / Rangers game in Arlington and while Greinke wasn't on the mound, my Dad and I noticed him in the dugout and I asked his opinion of whether the Rangers should go after him. He commented that we already had one head case in center field (while probably temporary) and we didn't need one in the rotation. Greinke and Hamilton will both probably be in the NL next year.....just a hunch.

i doubtfull the yankees would sign this reliable pitcher, because yankess are trying to give a extension to cano and other players,,,plus they want to cut short their payroll,,,

angels have the same problems as from the beginning of the season, the catcher spot still very weak with the same core of catchers, BOBBY WILSON, CRIST EANETTA, CONGER, AND HESTER, none of this catchers are a reliable catchers,
