05:32 PM ET 10.07 | The Minnesota Vikings, who are already thin at safety, has been ejected from the Vikings contest against the Titans after he shoved an official out of the way during an interception late in the second quarter. Worse yet for the Vikings second round pick, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is in the building watching the game which won't help how steep Smith's penalty will be.

Belichick ended up with a $50K fine for grabbing a ref after the game....a player shoving the ref during the game, double it.

If it happened during the play there should be no fine. While the game is in play it's the refs job to stay the hell out of the way.

Well your gonna get fined for touching him, might as well get your moneys worth. I'd like to see a scale of fines for Touching, Shoving, Punching, and finally Pile Driver. I suspect Power Bomb would have to be at least a one game suspension.

Have to agree. I didn't see the play, though. I've seen refs knocked over, and never stuff like this. Was this incidental to the play, or did he go out of his way to hit the ref?

Hypocrites...........what he's supposed to run around the officials now? they are in the field of play, if it happened on the sideline, different story! Now the hypo's are championing RG (Hitler) potential penalties.....putzs!

If it was during the play, ref should get out of the way. If he was wrong, he should be gone.

like it matters!!!

October 7, 2012  11:10 PM ET

oh my gosh ppl, when did the ref stop being a part of the play?

October 7, 2012  11:13 PM ET

Didn't see it but you don't put your hands on the Ref !

He shoved him during a scrum, not during a play. He's going to get reamed.

If that's the case then Goodell should throw the book at 'em!
