Zinedine Zidane has said he would like to return to the world of soccer, but admitted he did not know in which role. One of the sport's all-time greats, Zidane retired after France's defeat by Italy in the 2006 World Cup final, where he was sent off for his infamous head-butt on Marco Materazzi.

Wonder if if could be as a player...probably more as some sort of ambassador and charity role.

Clever, I saw what you did there, took my joke and just expanded on it making it seem like we are co-workers. HaHa. WOW. That's original. Man, ur funny.

Zidane should start studying up on how to manage a team. With such a high profile name, despite the stigma, he could put fans in the seats.

&%#XX- whatever your name is--please don't comment on this thread because you're a bozo. European soccer players make more money than American football players do. This is a fact. So get back to flipping your burgers in some hick joint in the South.

I think Zidane should come back. We're less than 2 years away from the last World Cup and I'm sure that he's not that rusty. He was by far the best player WC '06. The guy has incredible skills. But for the love of God, please do not come to the MLS

No money in Soccer...do you know how rich Zidane is, man?

Anyway, Zidane needs to stay away from the field. He's a God in France maybe he should try to manage. Who wouldn't want to see Zidane as manager of the French National Team?

ChiMavrick - "&%#$@" is an idiot who has no idea about soccer, the players, or the salaries they receive, but you too are a generalizing fool, who makes similar mistakes: "So get back to flipping your burgers in some hick joint in the South." Are you kidding me? You have no idea where this guy is from, you just assume that he is from the South. The South is full of intelligent, soccer loving individuals, you pompous Yankee.

&%#$@ definitively knows nothing about soccer and the money it generates.

Nevertheless I don't want Zidane as our national team manager. This guy was one of the best player ever but he is the last person I'd like to see running the French Team. He just doesn't have the personality of a coach. I want Wenger (unfortunately he will never be the manager), Deschamps or Laurent Blanc but not Zidane.

He will not play again, that's for sure but he could end up training kids or something like that.
