01:55 AM ET 10.08 | Recent comments by Kansas City Royals owner David Glass and other reports point to Detroit's Anibal Sanchez as the team's top target this offseason. It's no surprise to anybody that the Royals will need starting pitching to contend in 2013. With many of their prospects still struggling to get to the big leagues, free agency looks to be the way they'll build a rotation this offseason. Sanchez is step one in that process.

He ain't gonna come cheap. I'd like the Tigers to hold on to him, but not for $10M or more, which is what he'll probably command.

How about omar and a few more TIGERS that need to go.

Omar is a sure upgrade over the carousel of terrible the Tigers had at 2B earlier this season.

I agree; Omarr was a nice acquisition for Detroit this year. He shouldn't be too expensive, and should be a decent place holder until a minor leaguer can be developed.

He's still got a year left on his current contract, I believe. So that shouldn't be a problem for next season.

Makes some sense. But look at what the Orioles did this year with a shoddy rotation.

Also, look at the A's, and their youth.

Spending big is not the answer.

The Royals need to get on the phone with the Rays and make a deal. The Rays have plenty of starting pitching and the Royals had several good young hitters.

Word is that they the rays will probably trade Shields because he'll bring more talent in return.

The Royals organization is loaded with talented prospects. All those number one draft picks are boud to pay off sooner or later.

The Royals are just blowing smoke up some bodies pipe if they are going to spend 10 million or more on a quality starting pitcher.
