12:22 PM ET 10.08 | Are the Cleveland Browns planning to make changes in their front office sooner rather than later? The Browns are off to an 0-5 start to the season, the first season under new owner Jimmy Haslam. There are conflicting reports about whether or not the truck stop magnate will be making changes before the season ends. The Cleveland Plain Dealer says that he plans to hold off, spending the season evaluating team president Mike Holmgren, GM Tom Heckert and head coach Pat Shurmur. A report from CBS Sports' Jason LaCanfora, however, said that Haslam could introduce former Eagles executive Joe Banner as the Browns' new chief at the league meetings in October.

Looks like Cleveland is focusing their effort to get the #1 draft pick of 2013.

As they should be...
Now if the Owner can do to the Browns what he's done for Truck Stops, the rest of the League might be in trouble - cause between NJ and FLA, there is no better Truck stop than the Flying J.

With every loss, the job of "evaluating" the team, it's staff and coaches gets easier. With this kind of start, they must all understand that their heads are in a noose.

Agreed. However, anyone worth hiring to replace them doesn't want the job during the season. Fire them at the start of the year and get a new team in place so that they can put together a plan for the free agency period and the draft. There are very few solid starters in Cleveland, so its not going to be hard to start replacing people on or off the field.

And there are also rumors flying around that Haslam is courting Jon Gruden to be his next coach. For what it's worth...

Hey Cleveland, I have mention to you before about Terrell Owens but you rather let this team go total under than get the much needed help. Why don't you just give it a try and see how it comes out, atleast for T. Richardson sake. I'm a firm believer that you would do much better than you a re doing now.

Don't know if Holmgren is doing right as president, but one screw up was giving Shurmer his first head coaching job. Never understood the choice because his track record was nothing special.
Shurmer should likely go (any chance Gruden is interested now that a couple more years off has passed?). Maybe Holmgren.
That said, TOM HECKERT should stay. He has done a great job finding good players. Getting rid of Heckert would be a BIG mistake!
