Vontaze Burfict credits Marvin Lewis for the turnaround

04:22 PM ET 10.08 | The rise and fall and rise again of Cincinnati Bengals rookie linebacker Vontaze Burfict is one of the more interesting stories from the 2012 NFL Draft. At one time, Burfict was considered one of the top linebacker prospects in the game. Incidents on and off the field torpedoed his draft stock, but the Bengals took a chance on him as an undrafted free agent. Burfict credits head coach Marvin Lewis for the turnaround. "It's been a good journey, since I've been under Marvin Lewis' wing. He took me in and he coaches me how I need to be coached. If I mess up twice on one play that he already told me about, he gets to me. He starts yelling at me. But that's what I need. I love being under his wing because he talks to me like I'm a grown man and he understands you're not supposed to always yell at a player. Sometimes I need to be yelled at."

An undrafted player is not taking a chance, taking a chance is when you give a guy a big bonus and hope he produces, giving a guy the league minimum is not taking a chance and the kid had no guarantee!!!

Philbin is a great coach. People forget that he was the OC in Green Bay last 5 years where they coincidentally rose up offensively. The Dolphins really easily could be 4-1 if not for 2 OT loses that were about mishaps in the kicking game. The new QB is gonna be considered elite in a couple of years and Philbin is dramatically changing the culture. He will draft better and in 1-2 years they will seriously compete for a SB.

At some point, they have to give Frazier credit for what he's doing up in Minnesota.

Yes - they do.
My grandson asked me yesterday who the surprise team this season was. It didn't take a nanosecond for me to say "the ViQueens" (which made him laugh).
No one saw this coming.

I'm still having trouble believing my eyes. I'll wait a few more weeks before getting too excited though, just like I will wait a few weeks before writing off Green Bay. Interesting start to the season, though
