Magic gives OKC an edge over Lakers

08:16 AM ET 10.09 | Magic Johnson certainly knows how to play to an audience, and he probably made some friends out of rivals. [Johnson] was in Oklahoma City on Monday night serving as the keynote speaker at the ninth annual Champions of Health gala at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. ... To no one's surprise, the first question for the Lakers legend was whether the Thunder or the Lakers would win it all in 2013. Unlike many, Magic hasn't penciled in the Lakers for this year's title. He said the Thunder still has the edge and the Lakers have work to do to take it from OKC. "I would say that the Lakers have to beat the Thunder. The Thunder has something over the Lakers that the Lakers don't have right now and that's being a team."

SI you suck! Stop putting Magic Johnson under the Orlando Magic! Speaking from one of the four Orlando Magic fans still around, it is annoying to see Lakers news in my news feed!

If I didn't like Magic so much, if I didn't respect his 600 plus millions, if I didn't respect the shrewdness of Magic as a businessman, if I didn't respect the fact that he did go into bankruptcy over bittchess and hooeeess, I would equate him with those other morons Barkley & Shaq for making such an imbicilic statement. Cut and dry OKC will not beat the new Lakers with the mentality of their IMO overrated coach in Brooks, and the immature and wayward ways of RW, and the leaderless attitude of KD.......sorry, it just ain't gonna happen.

Lastly, I just find it so hard to dislike Magic in any capacity. Great, Great, person and player!

I wouldn't bet against the Lakers. Nash and Dwight are pretty enormous add-ons. The only thing that could slow them down is Kobe/Dwight egos. Nash could play point guard for the Twelve Apostles...
