08:20 AM ET 10.09 | Now leaning into his mid-30s, how many of the hard NBA miles he logs does Kobe Bryant have left? Speaking with CBSSports.com in a quiet moment after practice, Bryant conceded that, in all likelihood, the finish line and the conclusion of his current contract will be one in the same. Bryant has two years left, and though he was careful to point out, "One can never be too sure," he made it clear in the next breath it's almost unfathomable he would play beyond 2013-14, which would be his 18th season. "It's just that three more years seems like a really long time to continue to stay at a high, high level of training and preparation and health," Bryant said. "That's a lot of years. For a guard? That's a lot of years."

bro, this game is all about team effort. DO you really think MJ could have beaten the Jazz without Pippen helping and without Rodman guarding Karl Malone?

I will give you another example, Lebron James would have lost to the Celtics in the ECF if Wade was not there and if Bosh did not come back from injury. And we can also talk about x-factors too, in the Bulls' years there were Kukoc Paxson etc, in the Lakers year there were Horry Rice Fox etc, and finally last year for the Heat they had Battier M.Miller Haslem etc.
If you think MWP and Gasol gave kobe the title, you are totally wrong

No we don't think that, but """"people like you"""" still have to bring it up and pretend like there will be people saying that Kobe was the best when he gets his 6th/7th ring and has more points than MJ.
Quit your whining, little kid.

Aren't there 29 other teams in the NBA? Is it really necessary that we receive a daily update on the Lakers? I'm sure there are other teams preparing for the season as well..

I suspect that if 60% of the others bankrupted or future bankrupted players come from a stable family, had a good upbringing they'd be fine as well. Kobe's not special, he just happen to have had a professional basketball player "Jellybean Joe Bryant" as a father who could afford to bring him up a the well to suburds of Philly, and not the underpriviledge homes and ghettos a lotta of the other players come from. Tupac Shakur when questioned why he rapped gangsta, responded by spittin some of his lyrics and questioned "do you hear any gangsta in that"? Needless to say there was no gangsta rap in the lyrics he'd just spit. He then went on to very eloquently state the fact that most rappers, including himself, rap about the enviornment and things they come from and so did he, and that "while growing up most hispanics and blacks grow up in improvished enviorments and little to no recreation centers, whereas his white counterparts kids grow up with YMCA's abundantly, swim clubs, golf clubs, tennis clubs, private schools, charter schools, & prep schools, and most importantly not in "improvished enviornments.
After having said all of that, I say this to say that while Kobe in all likelihood will not blow his many millions and will make millions more, its not because a somehow special, its just because he is a product of his environment, which by the way, happens to have had been a better enviornment than most of his NBA counterparts. Just ask the NBA's leading man Lebron James about his environment, "Akron, OH" and I'm sure you'll get a clearer picture where somma these so called fools come from.......Kobe is not special, fortunate, but not special!
