Demotion coming for A-Rod?

08:24 AM ET 10.09 | Alex Rodriguez would love nothing more than to come through in the clutch, of course, but many Yankees fans don't even want him there. The last at-bat of [Monday night's] game was proof enough. Robinson Cano is by far the Yankees' best hitter these days, and if he were hitting in the No. 3 spot, he would have come up against Jim Johnson when one swing still could have changed everything. Instead he watched from the on-deck circle Monday night as [Rodriguez] struck out swinging to end the game, his fifth strikeout in this series. Enough, already. For a lot of reasons it's time Joe Girardi makes the obvious move and puts Cano into that third spot, while moving the seemingly diminished A-Rod down in the lineup.

Contractually anyways. I'm not so sure he'll be playing for that long.

Arod has batted 3rd all year and they aren't going to move him now. The Yankees have 4 players batting under 200 so there is a lot of blame to go around.

It is gratifying to watch his continuing struggles.

He should have been moved out of that 3 spot a long time ago. He is no 3 hitter, but Girardi is stubborn to a fault. Honestly, I would play chavez at third any time there was a right hander on the mound and DH Ibanez. But Girardi refuses to change. You have to pay the guy, but you don't have to play him.

It does help to have Arod so inept at playoff time to take the pressure off of the all time playoff bust: Swisher. What is it now?1-33 with RISP? Has to be a record, just has to be.

I laugh until I cry bro. It's absolute lunacy to have given A-Rod a 10 year contract at the age that he was. I think he's still an ok player to have in the lineup but he's by no means a 25-30 million dollar a year cleanup hitter. He's earning about 3 or 4 million a year when he plays a whole year.

In a sense, Arod has succeeded. He has stated that he has to try to "???not to try to do too much,??????
And he hasn't.
