12:09 PM ET 10.09 | The Arizona Cardinals officially placed Ryan Williams on injured reserve. The move ends his season and opens up a roster spot. Arizona replaced the running back with a cornerback, Crezdon Butler. Butler spent last season on IR himself with an ankle injury. He failed to make the final cuts for the 53-man roster this year, but found his way back to the team in the wake of Williams' injury.

Andy Reid understood the Kolb thing. I'm not sure he's understood much since then, though.

Butler was also cut by the Steelers (hence the Pic of him in a Steelers uniform). I don't think Arizona picks up all the players the Steelers cut, it just seems that way.

Good luck to Butler coming back from his injury and playing a new position...

Sometimes it seems as though Pittsburgh's cast-offs are better football players than the 2n3 and 3rd round draft choices for some teams.

They scout better and draft better....wish the Panthers had even a semi capable GM instead of a former sports writer! SMH...
