08:41 AM ET 10.10 | Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose is recovering from a torn ACL suffered at the end of April and is currently rehabbing the knee which could take six to nine months to fully heal. While it was initially believed that Rose could be ready to return to the Bulls during the All-Star break this upcoming season, the Bulls guard is non-committal about his return. Rose spoke with NBA TV's Steve Aschburner and acknowledged that there is still the possibility that he will miss the entire 2012-13 season as he recovers from the knee injury. Rose has been warned about returning to action to soon and knows that returning for the final few months of the season could prove to do more harm than good. Anytime you are dealing with an ACL injury, you need to be patient in rehab and not rush your return. That may not be what Bulls fans would like to hear but it is the reality Rose is dealing with.

I wish I listen to somebody when I tore my ACL when I was 21. Now I'm paying for it.

Yeah, it's pointless for him to come back this year. Bulls aren't contending, so why risk re-injuring yourself by coming back too soon? (This could be the first T&R thread in history where everyone is in agreement).

Has anyone seen Adrian Peterson??? Dude tore his ACL around Xmas last year and is back on the football field tearing it up. These NBA players are soft! Sorry to say it but...if a football player, a RB no less is able to get back on the gridiron barely 9 months removed....his frial frame should be able to do the same. I guess they just dont have the same strength programs but geez man....same thing for Mendenhall, tore his in Jan and back on the field taking hits.

Sorry to say it, because I am a huge Adrian Peterson fan (Oklahoma Sooner fan also), but the guys you mention will be wishing they had taken a little longer to come back in a few years. I tore my ACL when I was 18 years old and rehabed it for 6 months and started playing basketball again...paying for it now with hurting and swelling in the same knee now at age 41.
