11:26 AM ET 10.10 | Carmelo Anthony has always been an All-Star small forward, but in his year-plus in a New York Knicks uniform, Anthony has played his best basketball while playing the power forward spot, a place where many expect head coach Mike Woodson to utilize Anthony a little bit this season. But if 'Melo has his way, that won't be the case.

Just another example of how Anthony is not a team player.
He needs to realize that in order to achieve an ultimate goal of winning a tittle, Anthony will have to put what's best for the team ahead of his personal agenda.

Otherwise, hello AI 2012.

Typical Melo... and THIS is why he'll never get a ring let alone win a playoff series...

LOL...cmon man...he had his best games last year ay the 4 averaging 30 ppg on 50% shooting...If he sayss he wants to play the 4 you guys will say he is not a team player for throwing Stat under the bus...keep it real

I don't know if I agree.
Personal statistics aside, what does he really accomplish for a team?
Does he warrant what teams pay him for?
I personally would pass on the guy for someone that can improve my team and score less.

no one has said this.... but we all know what rashweed is about. He's a "tell it how it is" kid of guy right? Rashweed has played along some of the best players in the game.... What's Rashweed gonna say after a game in which Melo was pout'n. remember Rashweed will say something this year about Melo and his Fedora wear'n teammate.... Bets?

At this point in his career, it's going to be tough to change.

He's never missed the playoffsHe's an elite scorer (top 3)He isn't afraid to take the last shotHe has warts.....including not wanting to defer, not playing defense all the time. But he is worth the $.;Cause in the NBA with only 5 elite franchise players and 30 teams, the top guys make $, whether they are 'worth it' or not

You pretty much summed up why he is so alluring AND why teams should resist the temptation.
What's the point of having an 'elite' (debatable) player if he puts himself ahead of the team?
Don't misunderstand, he has good talent at scoring, but I don't see the rest; leadership skills, selflessness...flexibility for the teams benefit.
Isn't that also needed to be elite?

Reread your statement, and wanted to point out something.
You said he is an elite scorer, right?
But he was signed under the assumption, and NEEDS to be an elite PLAYER if they want any real success.
I think he is shortchanging the Knicks.

His defense isn't very good, but he can score. And hit the big shots when it matters.

Again, he isn't an elite player, just a scorer.
