05:52 PM ET 10.10 | Redskins rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III suffered a concussion in last Sunday's loss to the Falcons but he says he is planning to be on the field when the Redskins host the Vikings in Week 6. "I felt sharp, I felt good," he said of Wednesday's practice. The Redskins quarterback says he has no concussion symptoms which is a good sign for his availability on Sunday.

Great, make the Shanahans look like they know coaching. Jump on that swoard

No kidding. Totally legal hit, but his head bounced hard off the other player's pads because of it. They should be a bit more cautious about putting him back in there.

It will be interesting to see how defenses will play him going forward. Up till now, RGIII's run-option stuff had opened up quite a bit for the 'skins' offense in both the run and pass game- the linebackers and DEs have to stay at home and not overpersue; also RGIII could buy time when passing. If he now plays as only a 'prototypical pocket passer' the 'skins O might drop off in production a bit

I hope he's been practicing his feet first slide.

No joke. If he takes another hard shot to the head this week he'll literally be shaving years off the end of his career... and life.

And I do find it interesting that the Redskins are so quick to toss RGIII back on the field in the midst of league's front office probing their injury report.

What I'm most interested in seeing is how he plays at the end of the season, in the NFC East divisional rematches, when opposing defenses have already played against him and made adjustments to their game-plans.

+1

The league adjusted to Michael Vick and seems to have figured out Cam Newton. They will adjust to RGIII as well. Then we'll figure out how good he and Shanahan are.

I suspect he just learned that lesson the hard way!

A few yards are not worth the concussion

October 11, 2012  07:46 AM ET

" The Redskins quarterback says he has no concussion symptoms..."

Couldn't the failure to recognize your own concussion symptoms in itself be a concussion symptom?

There's no shame in sitting a week to get better. Really. True football fans would rather see a long career for RG-III than remember him as a footnote who came back too soon.

October 11, 2012  08:58 AM ET

I can see him being another version of Michael Vick , great physical talent , but injury prone due to his style of play. You cannot teach these type of players to change their style of play.

Go for it kid. No guts no glory.
