Frustrated Jacobs toning it down for Harbaugh

08:03 AM ET 10.11 | On Monday, Jim Harbaugh said Brandon Jacobs hadn't fully recovered from a left knee injury, something Jacobs seemed to refute on Wednesday. Jacobs said he could have played against the Bills and the week before against the Jets as well. ... [Jacobs told USA Today] that "It would disappoint me a lot" if he didn't get to play against his former team, the Giants, on Sunday. "But like I said, it's not my call." Jacobs was notably outspoken when he was with the Giants, in recent years over how he was used in New York's offense. Harbaugh, meanwhile, has instilled a team-first mentality that most of his players -- even Randy Moss, apparently -- have accepted.

I guess Jacobs hasn't noticed that this Gore kid is pretty damn good himself.

It will be a short-lived concept for Moss.

Brandon's range of interests tend to center around himself and nothing else. I'm not entirely sure he realized that the Giants won Super Bowls when he played there.

With healthy fresh legs later in the season, he may yet get to be a hero.

This year and maybe part of next year if they win the Super Bowl.

He wants that ring.

there is a "me" though

not to mention Kendall Hunter has done a great job with his limited carries as of last year as a rookie. Hunter is the future , And I am sure Harbaugh made it very clear to Jacobs he would be a 3rd down back.

I hope he wants some garbage time yards. Because that's all they should give him.

They're 4-1. They've scored 79 points in their last 2 games. Why should they change their offense?

79 points is more than the Jags, Raiders or Cowboys have scored all season.

Still, there's a certain motivation factor you got to take advantage of here...let the man have his cake.

A Brandon. In case you didn't get the memo, your an extra. Your a just in case. Hey, as long as the pay check has numbers on it, shut up.

But don't you see that they're just phoning it in? That they refuse to draw pictures of Jacobs on the check and surround his face with little hearts? That they refuse to bench that Gore dude and put Jacobs at the top of the depth chart? The whole world is out to get Brandon Jacobs, and he's better than any of us. The Niners' coaches and, indeed, all of us should apologize to the best back the Niners ever had. But I'm not even sure Hugh McElhenny is still living.
