08:06 AM ET 10.11 | Camp has barely opened, and J.R. Smith is already an unhappy man. First, Chris Smith, J.R.'s brother, will be out 3-6 months as he is scheduled to undergo left patella tendon surgery on his knee Thursday at the Hospital of Special Surgery. J.R. is also still upset Mike Woodson wants him as a Sixth Man and not a starter. "I think disappointed is an understatement," J.R. said of Mike Woodson's remarks that he likes him off the bench. "My whole process of getting better this summer and everything I went through was to be in that starting role." J.R. said Sixth Man of the Year is "not in my thought process." Meanwhile, his brother, Chris, the Knicks soon-to-be 25-year-old combo guard, was a strong candidate to make the club.

In the PF corner we have sulking Melo. In the guard whining corner we have J.R. Smith. Gentleman start your sulking!

Oh if he is on the starting line up, then they will only have 1 guy playing defense out of the 5 starters lol

I think that he is better of coming of the bench for this team as a spark cause he shoots to much and to many wild shots to be in the starting lineup.

He is friends with Melo isn't he?
Once a knucklehead, always a knucklehead!

Thank you......you know that poster believes in Stat.....yeah the Stat who have done all of exactly what other than injure his back come playoff time (1st year), and then have this classic fistacuffs with firefighting equipment his 2nd playoffs campaign, so thats exactly why I never respond to him personally, he's lookin for a war of sorts, problem is...I'm not interesed.

Logically speaking, if Shumpts not there, who do you play. Kidd...can't give'em starter minutes at the two...too old to serve backup pt. and starting 2. Novak is a joke, can shoot, but don't rebound, can't create, plays zero defense, this would be absolute nightmare for the Knicks as it relates to playing against the other two's around the league. Brewer is out and the other two's don't make sense, so yeah, logically speaking, JR has a point and it should be well taken by Woodson. This is exactly the reason why I didn't like this hire, he seems to be a poor evaluator in certain situation.
