02:07 PM ET 10.11 | The Seattle Seahawks are part of a rejuvenated NFC West. Like the other three teams in the division, all of which have a winning record, Pete Carroll's team is doing it with defense. Seattle hosts the New England Patriots this week. Carroll revealed the secret as to what makes his defense work in an interview with WEEI in Boston. "Basically it???s a bunch of young guys that are big and strong and they run real fast and they???re playing together. It???s a pretty new group. ??? We have one new starter from last year, but really in the last two years it???s a brand new group. And so we???re just learning, growing together. It???s a really fun bunch of guys and our chances are pretty darn good."

So now the secret is out. Okay.

Let's see, the Seahawks 3 wins have come against teams with a combined record of 5-9.

7-9 isn't getting you to the playoffs this year either, Pete.

What a field general Pete is. Admirable, admirable.

I have never heard of the "fetal position defense" how does it work ?

Shhhhhh.....Pete....it's supposed to be a secret, now every one will be doing the same thing.....

Defense ...lol.........Brady skins the Hawks this week

I have to admire PCs ability to seem to answer a question without saying anything. If the Seattle offense can't move the chains a bit, put a few points on the board, their defense will take a beating against the Pats.

Based on the way they played last week, that's a scary offense hitting on all cylinders. Expect a blowout.

We will see if he can keep it going, good luck Coach!!!

Aaron Hernandez is planning on taking the trip, too.

Boy you Pats fans are cocky. So were the Cowboys fans after their BIG win over the Super Bowl champs in week one. Who'd they beat in the Super Bowl again? Oh yeah thats right..All im saying is to expect a better game than a blowout. This is not the 5-11 team Carroll inherited from Mora.

Hey, I remember that game from 4th grade! Tommy beat Billy, and I beat Tommy, so I can beat Billy by default, right? I'm not a Pats fan, but I'm not blind. Those guys can run the ball this year, and if the game the Hawks stole from the Packers showed anything, it's that a solid running game will defuse that pass rush.

It might be a blowout, might not be a blowout, the Seahawks might win. That's why they line up and play the games.
