08:18 AM ET 10.12 | In the wake of a disappointing end to the Reds' season, Walt Jocketty was almost immediately asked about the future. The first order of business is Reds manager Dusty Baker's status. His contract is up. ... Jocketty said he expects Baker to be back, along with all of the coaches whose contracts are up as well. "It was a very good season," Jocketty said. Baker, with the sting of the NL Division Series, was vague on his future. "I'm not sure where my career is going here in Cincinnati," he said. "We're going to talk about that in the next couple of days. But I'm not through managing. I have more to do." Does he expect to be back? "I don't know, man," he said. "Right now, I'm kind of of numb in this situation."

What an embarrassing reversal of fortune, getting swept in 3 games at home, after taking the first 2 on the road.

He's just overrated. And Cincy's got a window here to do something. Just don't know who they go after now...

It just bugs me to see the Giants win.

I would be okay keeping the bench coach who took over in Dusty's absence. Yesterday showed he cannot coach in a big game. Stubbs had no business in the that game and Fraizer should have been in as well. I also couldn't understand a double steal or hit n run (not sure which it was supposed to be) with no outs and down by 3 but then again I am just a couch coach.

Jealousy doesn't become you. Sorry the Giants play well together as a team while your team is a dysfunctional daily soap opera.

But the Giants have had success recently. Not so much for the Reds.

Showalter's (and Duquette's for that matter) teams tend to have great first and/or second seasons, then burn out for the next few until they both get fired and the team starts over. Duquette made the playoffs in his first season with the O's, Red Sox and Expos now after taking over teams with losing records. How much success did those last two have with him?
