08:21 AM ET 10.12 | Though Thursday's game in Boulder may not have been the conference's best showcase, Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott, on hand to award Colorado players with conference basketball championship rings, would still like more eyeballs for his TV network. At halftime, he said his fledgling Pac-12 Network still hasn't signed up the giant cable provider, Direct TV. In the Los Angeles area, he said the Pac-12 Network is only reaching about 25 percent of the available TVs. "I don't get the sense that it is imminent," Scott said. "We're very aggressive to encourage them to take it. We've offered them to be on the same basis that everybody else has taken it. We're really frustrated like our fans are frustrated that they haven't agreed to take it."

I know all these conferences (and one university) seem to think that a conference cable channel is a cash cow, but let's be honest -- why watch it?

My cable provider has the B1G network and the Longhorn Network. I've only popped onto the Big 10 folks when there's a game that I hear has become close (and primarily because those games are often in the noon ET slot, when there aren't a lot of good games on), and never have tuned in the Longhorn folks.

I certainly am not watching these channels for field hockey or swimming competitions.

If not watching volleyball, you're missing out.

And btw, LHN is now generating about $65MM/yr for espn in subscriber fees, before adding in advertising

What is that he's holding in the pic? Looks like a bumper from a wrecked '47 Dodge pickup.

My son just started HS. About a week in he says he wants to go up to the school with his friends. I ask him why. He says, the girls volleyball team is playing and they wear spandex shorts. SMH.

He sounds like a smart boy to me.

Agreed.

Certainly beats the "I'm going to go hang out in the boys locker room because I like the view" alternative comment.
