Cole hoping to be locked out Friday

08:25 AM ET 10.12 | Welcome to Erik Cole's alternate reality. [Cole] is hoping that on Friday, finally, the Canadiens and the National Hockey League will lock him out. No, Cole is not living in a bizarro universe. But should the net-crashing power forward get the clean bill of health he expects from David Mulder, the Habs' head team physician and chief surgeon, then he'll get the boot from the club's clinic, gym and dressing room. Cole will have been declared fit to play -- though with nowhere to play -- and join the bulk of his teammates on the outside looking in. "I'm hoping to get locked out by the end of this week," he said during a chat Wednesday, on his way to pick his kids up after school.
