02:35 PM ET 10.12 | The Arizona Cardinals lost to the St. Louis Rams in Week 5, ending the team's undefeated streak to start the season. Wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald says one of the things the Cardinals need to fix is their work on third downs. "There???s one thing I would say that we haven???t been doing well offensively, and that???s getting in short, manageable third downs," Fitzgerald said. "You look at the good teams throughout the league ??? the San Francisco 49ers, Atlanta Falcons, the Houston Texans ??? whenever they???re in third down, it???s third-down-and-two. So at third-down-and-two you have the ability to either run the football or throw the football. When you???re sitting third-and-eight, third-and-nine, third-and-10, your options are a little bit out the window and you know that you have to throw the football at that point. So we have to do a better job at getting manageable down-and-distance, and I think running the ball effectively is only going to be a help to that."

Actually they need an O Line so that whomever is QB'ing this team can have at least 2 seconds to get a throw off...

A lot of question marks in this article.

To really fix the problem they need to get either a first down or a touch down on every second down

An offensive line that doesn't make the Bears' O-line look amazing would be a great start

A QB that could throw the ball on third down and quit looking like the skinny kid on the playground with a couple of fat kids headed for him would help.

Exactly. It's difficult to blame Kolb given the horrid protection he has had.
