10:01 AM ET 10.13 | John Calipari has turned the world of recruiting into a one-horse race. It's Kentucky and everyone else. Last week, Calipari landed Andrew and Aaron Harrison, interchangeable 6-foot-5 guards from Houston, twin brothers who are consensus top-five players in the Class of 2013. On Thursday, forward James Young of Michigan, another top-five recruit, picked Kentucky over Kansas, Syracuse and Michigan State. Kentucky is on pace to form arguably the nation's best recruiting class of all time, as it is also in play for Texas power forward Julius Randle, who many consider the top player in this year's class, and 6-foot-8 wing Andrew Wiggins, a Canadian import considered the top prospect in North America who may reclassify into this year's class.

I've got no respect for what this guy and his kind have brought to college basketball.

Kentucky is not college basketball. It is a bunch of 5 star athletes who take courses like bowling and history of rap music and leave after 6 months.

I think UK should stop recruiting the best players too. That's the key to winning games right, get the worst players. All sports should try that, let's put Jimmy Johnson is a mini van and see if he can win the cup next year. I bet if those kids went to your favorite school you would say this sucks, I wish they would leave so we could loose some more, that's real college ball.

Both college and pro basketball were much better off when players stayed 3-4 years in college. The NFL requires 3 years of college or 3 years after you graduate H.S. Either it should be that way or just let them go strait from H.S. This one and done destroys the concept of student athlete. These
Students make a mockery of going to class. After the 1st semester they are put on academic probation and after the 2nd semester they turn pro.All the while receiving illegal benefits that come back and hurt future players because the school is put on probation. The athlete only cares about themselves not yet university.Calipari is playing by the rules but exploiting the system.

Wow...so much jealousy here. I'm not a big fan of the one-and-done, either, but as long as it's the way it's done then so what? It's not as if UK is the only school where this is done. I have a great respect for most of the elite schools and they all are extremely competitive at recruiting. For Calipari, he's brought huge amounts of success to UK and recruits see that. If Indiana, Duke or any other school wins it all this year, don't you think that will make them more attractive to recruits? Calipari has proven he can get players to the NBA. What else do they need?
As for the cheating comments, I also have reservations about Calipari's reputation. However, unless you can prove wrongdoing, I'd keep my mouth shut. Of all schools, UK knows what can happen if cheating occurs. On top of that, Calipari has not been implicated in the UMass and Memphis scandals. When folks get on these forums and make cracks about the scandals, I just nod and smile - jealous is an ugly, ugly thing.
