Sanchez-Tebow decision may cost Rex Ryan Jets job

08:26 AM ET 10.14 | The New York Jets' Rex Ryan needs to figure out the Mark Sanchez-Tim Tebow dilemma or it will cost him his job. He has a really big quarterback problem. It doesn't help that Jets owner Woody Johnson has stopped just short of switching his presidential endorsement from Mitt Romney to Tebow. If Johnson pressures Ryan into starting Tebow and Ryan agrees to please his boss, then at the end of the season Ryan should tell Johnson to go find another coach. If Ryan doesn't want to make a quarterback change, and Johnson in essence makes it for him, then there's no point in Ryan working here anymore. General manager Mike Tannenbaum is part of Johnson's inner circle, and it's hard to see him getting fired after one really bad season.

His job is already gone!!!

That's no surprise.

A lot more than just the QB-situation is going to cost him the Jets job.

Never liked Rex Ryan. Picking up Tebow in the first place when you had no intention of using him was Ryan's big mistake. Stop trying for headlines and focus on winning ball games. Ryan should be gone now...

Whoa! Would it not all lay at the feet of Mike Tannenbaum? He decided on Sanchez as the franchise QB and then brought in Tebow, who is no better, only different.

Mike Tannenbaum has to go too. More so than the HC really.

No, no, no these two guys are great. NY can't just let the bestest coach in football go. And Tannenbaum is a freakin genius, who would/could replace such a shrewd evaluator of talent?

I think that if the Jets ever want to be relevant again they need to give these two guys lifetime contracts.

Yeah, that's the ticket ;)

Two injuries to big time contributors to the team does not help.

By the way, did anyone see that Notre Dame game last night?

GO IRISH!

The owner doesn't care who is QB, Ryan's job is base on wins and making the playoffs.

The elbow was down before the ball crossed the line. You can watch the replay.

It was the GM that put this misfit cast together. Your CB is your second best WR? Really! With Tannenbaum as your GM, there is no fix to it. It has to be a complete change of HC, GM, scouting department and assistants.

The Jets are a mess. The owner is making statements about playing time, the GM has not put talent on the team and the coach is running something of a circus. Sanchez has certainly not played great, but he is arguably the best part of the Jets' offense. Joe Montana could not lead that team to victory, neverming Tim Tebow.

As seen through Notre Dame eyes

The sooner they put Tebow in the sooner he jions the ranks of the unemployed and the sooner we can get rid of the dailey Tebow worship. I think he's arguably the worst QB in the league and in contention for worst QB ever, yet day after day he's in the headlines. Enough already play the fool and get it over with.
