09:27 AM ET 10.14 | The heart of Andre Iguodala's criticism of Doug Collins -- "it was just draining for the criticism to be there every single day" -- is the very reason the Sixers overhauled their roster, importing new players like Andrew Bynum, Nick Young, Jason Richardson, Kwame Brown and Dorell Wright for this season.

Coach of the year one year and fired the next when the players stop listening.

If this is the complaint on Collins, I do not expect a happy time in Philadelphia with Bynum and Collins. Bynum will be a monster this year if he can, because its the last year of his contract and he wants a max deal somewhere. But if he signs and stays in Philly, they're gonna need another coach, someone like Doc Rivers, who knows how to work with players without yelling ALL the time.

Personally, I can't believe Bynum has to be babied so much.
He's an okay center, but that's it.

Says a lot...if I actually agreed with you on the qualities that constitute a good player.
I think a big part of it should included two things may not have considered; unselfish team player and mental toughness.
Otherwise, you just have a guy that can get points for himself when it doesn't matter.

Yeah if Iggy couldn't take the constant harping (in his opinion) I can see Bynum having the mental toughness to take it. And I would execthim to get much more harping than Iggy who always seemed to give full effort.

I wouldn't read too much into this. I doubt very seriously that the 76ers brought in Kwame freakin' Brown and Dorrell Wright as part of any overhaul to replace Iguodala. This is just typical yellow journalism from the Zoo York Daily News. Take it with a grain of salt.

To answer the original question, because they simply could not get beyond the initial play-off rounds with the roster they had? Miami is no easier, neither are the Celtics. The Nets look good on paper - you have to do something. Insofar as the carping goes, I like Doug Collins and hope he is ultimately successful, whatever the perceived problem might be. Having said that, Kwame Brown doesn't seem like much of an answer.
