San Francisco, 49ers bidding on future Super Bowl

This whole move south is an abomination. 49ers are part of The City, not the ugly sprawl of the South Bay. San Jose is and always will be a joke. A bad, bad move when the wave of the future is move more toward the urban center, not Dante's No. 12 level of hell. No one should know "the way to San Jose." (BTW, the best that ever came out of SJ was the freeway.)

This would be a Great Place to host a Super Bowl, even more interesting if they were participating!!!

The drug addicts, **** and perverts will just have a little farther to go to panhandle is all.

Wait a second. I was in Santa Clara once for a few hours. Seemed liked a pretty nice place to me. First place I ever had clam chowder in a bread bowl. Good stuff.

Hey they got a Boiling Crab near by, How bad of a place can it be?

It's a hell of a lot nicer than the Bayview/Hunters Point demilitarized zone where the team currently plays.

I don't know why anyone has any nostalgia at all for Candlestick. It's a horrible stadium in an even more horrible neighborhood. It would have been nice to get a downtown stadium, but real estate is at a premium in the City and local politics are too tough to navigate.

Kezar Stadium. Is that still around, I remember when they played there.

why didn't they push for SSF, it would have been an enhancement. Agree with candlestick, that place is, and always has been, a hell hole. That was all about dirty politics, for those that don't know, it was land owned by the then mayors bro-in-law. Nice place to visit in the late morning but come early afternoon the winds swoop up.Obviously they arranged a mid morning site visit. The land is fill land, worthless at the time until the mayor (with huge kickback assumed) arranged a deal with his family connection. Old Seals Staduim was situated better as is Kezar with those old rickity seats. It would have been real cool to see a start of the art stadium built in the presidio

No, the freeway is not anything good. Too many of the denizens followed it north to Oregon. Send them back! Deport them! Dismantle the freeway!

Now, Traded, I-5 doesn't go through SF or San Jose. It's Sacra-mental that is sending folks to you or, rather,relaying them from LA. You got to build big old checkpoint at Siskyou Summit. (BTW, Portland is now the hippest place on the coast.)

They came to see the Grateful Dead at the Country Fair--but they used up all their change getting here, so they stayed.

ah, you are probably right. If we had a border site, and executed any houseplants they tried to bring in to the state, it would probably keep the numbers down

remember they shot a scene at kezar stadium for dirty harry. i thought i heard it was still standing although i could be wrong. went by candlestick park on google streetview. a creepy area.

Gotta be better than having it at the new Giants Stadium

it's a hell of alot better place than anywhere in NJ or Indy
