Bengals too nice to win?

08:04 AM ET 10.15 | A battle of Ohio went the way of the Browns Sunday, but it wasn't as if the Bengals didn't have a chance. Midway through trying to explain how the Bengals had a second-half meltdown that resulted in a 34-24 loss to the Browns, Marvin Lewis said his team is "almost too nice at times and we've got to have more of a killer instinct." That might be the most prescient comment of a season firmly at the crossroads. ... When asked about Lewis' nice comments, [Andy Dalton] said: "I wouldn't say we are 'too nice,' we just have to find that edge. We've got to do something or find something to get some momentum going." A.J. Green had two of the touchdown catches and finished with 135 yards on seven receptions.

Marvin, if you said it, then it's your fault.

Maybe the Browns are better than most people think. They put up 27 points against the Giants and 34 this week against the Bengals; two teams that have good defenses.

You can't expect the other team to quit just because you're up a couple of scores. Play hard the whole game, not just the first half.

Tony Dungy was nice and his teams had an edge.

Team is to nice ....maybe it reflects to the headcoach's personality.......soft spoken ,easy going Marvin........not like the days of Forest Greg and Sam Wych.

Cleveland is a Team on it's way Up!!!

That's what it is ?

The lack of a killer instinct, or the inability to put opposing teams away, seems to be the prevailing topic on the NFL threads today.

C'mon, man. How about some props for the Brownies? The Bungles didn't lose it. The Browns won it.

OK.

But, face it. Thanks to the wonders of television, most of us have no idea what went down in that game.

When you're at the bottom, it's the only direction left to go. Better hope the new owner believes in continuity, or Weeded, et al will be trying to learn a new system next year.

+1

The Browns need a front office and HC change but there is talent on the roster. Weeden needs a coach who will game plan around his talents and one who will use his stud back in 3rd and 1!!!

That's just the Bengals being the Bengals...

The Browns are going to do just fine their just getting started, they banged the Giants up a bit and probably boosted their confidence, be patient their on the way to becoming a respectable Team!!!
