08:16 AM ET 10.15 | The numbers over the weekend weren't kind to Mack Brown and Texas: 63-21. That was the score in Oklahoma's victory over Texas on Saturday at the Cotton Bowl. Following are other pertinent numbers that are bound to surface as the inevitable discussion begins -- or has begun -- about whether this is the beginning of the end, the middle of the end or the end of the Mack Brown era at Texas. 118-38. 17-14. 2-9. ... It feels to me as if this is beyond the beginning of the end for Brown. But how far beyond will depend on whether the Longhorns (4-2) can rebound over the last half of the season and finish respectably. If they can't, well, you can turn to social media and see what the critics are saying.

He's 61, and will probably get a generous retirement package at the end of the season, and perhaps a position on the Athletic Staff as an Asst. AD in charge of fund-raising or some such retirement gig.

Once Will Muschamp left for the Swamp the program was doomed! The Horn-ey faithful had no future.

Better be thinking about who would be the replacement if you're gonna seriously consider changing -- and while UTx has the cache and the checkbook to land practically anybody that's available, who would the best available be and at what price?

And all you others that are also intending to hire a HC in the short term (Arky, for certain plus possibly UTk, Aubie, etc), if UTx does decide to ditch Mack, you better hope Dodds doesn't set his sights on whoever you are scheming to hire, because you will lose any bidding war that develops.

LOL at the comments on that SB nation article. "Call Nick Saban." We can match anything Texas offers and of course, there's always the assertion on here he has no morals.....

They sound like Pat Dye saying, "I wouldn't trade Gene Chizik for 10 Nick Sabans!"

Thats a pretty good article..who do you focus on?????? Saban? An UNK? Who do you want to replace Mack???And btw, your name change awaits :)

Nick Saban is not leaving. We'd have to pizz him off royally for him to want to leave.

I respect what Pat Dye did at Aubie, but that is the homerism of all homerisms right there. Words that he will end up eating IMO.

You don't even have bait on that hook. It's as bare as your butt on the day you were born.
