QB change coming for Irish?

08:17 AM ET 10.15 | Notre Dame may be riding high, but it's not as if the Irish are without question marks heading into the season's second half. Will Irish coach Brian Kelly change Notre Dame's quarterback dynamic this week in light of another strong relief appearance by junior Tommy Rees? Not if sophomore Everett Golson is healthy. Kelly revealed Sunday that Golson did suffer a concussion on helmet-to-helmet contact Saturday with 3:24 left in regulation in Notre Dame's 20-13 overtime win over Stanford, but that his No. 1 option is expected back in practice early in the week. "He's going through the steps, the protocol that we have," Kelly said. "He was still a bit symptomatic today, so he'll go through his cognitive testing (Monday)."

Rees did get the job done when he replaced Golson. IMO, if Golson "didn't" get hurt, Stanford wins the game!!!

Will one of you geniuses 'splain this to me?
Stanford goes to ND and loses in OT on a close call...so these two teams are pretty even from the head to head game just played...and one would assume they would split 10 games with 5 wins each.
How are they 17 spots difference in the AP poll?
I'm guessing head to head games don't mean <hit.

Call not blown; left elbow down before ball hit the goal line.

If Rees is named starter, Van and Piratey are going to have a field day yelling about it!!!!!!

Difference is that ND has not lost a game. If/when the do they will fall in the rankings as all the one loss teams have done.
Agree that Stanford deserves more respect; after all, they did humiliate USC!

Very likely.
I like Golson's athleticism; he has a lot of upside if his game presence improves.
Rees, however, shows a lot of game presence, even though his athletic skills are not up to Golson's.
Brian Kelly and his staff probably spend a lot of time worrying about these issues.

I understand the "no loss" issue but they just played head to head and ND is only ever so slightly better. A few inches in OT better...not 17 rating spots.
Polls are hogwash.

LOL, DC, I was thinking exactly the same thing!!! I know I'm an 12 PAC homer, but come on, If anyone watched the "whole" Stanford and Notre Dame game they would have see that, that game could have went either way. Like I said yesterday, as an 12 PAC fan, I was very proud of Stanford, as they went to South Bend and played ND to the finish on the road!!!!!

Well, that and Stanford better hope they get to recover a ND fumble in the endzone every game.

Yeah, I have to agree!!!! Stanford lost to Washington; therefore they shouldn't have any complaints. Both Stanford and ND need to have better QB play to really advance this year. IMO, I don't think ND's defense will be undefeated this year. I think once they face a good passing attack (Jones or Barkley) they will be exposed.

Yeah, but like I said yesterday, I don't like to make excuses. Notre Dame won and it's time to move on in regards to that last call.

I agree, but I also agree with DC. I just don't think that ND is all that much better than Stanford.
