Flopping will continue in NCAA

08:25 AM ET 10.15 | The NBA recently announced some measures to crack down on flopping, with players subject to possible fines. But don't look for college basketball officials to forcefully address flopping. "They have some tools at their beck and call we don't have," Art Hyland said recently of NBA Commissioner David Stern and his league office staffers. Hyland, the NCAA's secretary/rules editor for college basketball and a former supervisor of Big East officials, noted how the NBA can levy fines. "We don't have that kind of strong hammer to prevent flops," he said. Until 2002, the NCAA rulebook allowed referees to assess a technical foul on a player deemed to have faked taking a charge. It was called so infrequently, even coaches forgot the penalty existed.

Back in the good ol' days, the more appropriate headline would've been "fapping will continue in NCAA Bball threads".
But not anymore.
