Bengals may be forced to add a running back

03:46 PM ET 10.15 | The Bengals' running game has become the Achilles' heel of a team with enough talent to make the playoffs, but as of now is on pace to be drafting in the top 10 of the 2013 NFL Draft. The team was held to a mere 76 yards on 20 carries (3.8 ypc average), and never seem determined to establish the running game against a Browns team who had surrendered 243 rushing yards to the Giants the previous week. It led to the team's continued inability to convert on third down (5/14 Sunday) and again forced Andy Dalton to carry the load on offense, something the Bengals aren't built to do. The offensive line isn't good enough to hold up in pass protection when the defense is pinning their ears back, and with Sunday's excruciating loss to the Browns, the Bengals fell to 0-5 when Dalton has 40+ passing attempts.

So if the Offensive Line isn't good enough to hold up in Pass protection, what makes "Stripe Hype" think they are good enough to generate a solid running game???

Maybe O-line is where they should be looking.

Kind of ironic they let Cedric Benson walk, and replaced him with a guy that the Pats dumped.

O-line is not the problem,Benson had (3) 1,000yrd seasons with this line, Bernard Scott has had good seasons and looked really good till he tore his knee up against the Fish last week.
Ben-Jarvis-Green-Ellis is very slow and cannot see the holes or break it outside like Scott could.......Defense's know "The Lawfirm" can't run outside so they just come hard every play.......if you can't run the ball, its hard to throw the ball.
