Lions RB Jahvid Best's career might be over

08:19 PM ET 10.15 | Jim Schwartz had no update on the status of running back Jahvid Best during his press conference earlier this afternoon. However, it didn't take long after that for the news to come out. From the shallow football-based perspective and the much more meaningful perspective of Jahvid's overall health, the news isn't good. It has been a full year since Jahvid Best last played so it is hard to see him returning any time soon. If he isn't able to get cleared now, what is likely to change between now and the end of this season? Probably nothing.

This is one of the side-effects of the concussion lawsuits. The current players want to play, but the league doesn't dare allow it. It's been a year, knock off the garbage and just say the guy's eggs are permanently scrambled and let him get on with the rest of his (healthy) life.
