08:03 AM ET 10.16 | Rex Ryan is getting that old feeling again. [Ryan] may have toned down his rhetoric in the first six weeks of the season, but the confident coach dusted off some of his best material Monday for the Jets' bitter rivals. Six days before Gang Green face the Patriots in Foxborough with at least a share of the AFC East lead at stake, Ryan tweaked Bill Belichick's team in what has become a rite of fall. "I just think that I want them to know ... and they know that I think we're going to beat them," Ryan said. "I recognize that they're a great football team and Belichick's a great coach. I've never once said that he wasn't. But again, we're not going to back down or concede anything."

One win, and against the Colts, and Rex thinks he's back on his way to the super bowl. With the Pats' defense, he may be right, but I don't think so.

That maybe true but the Pats, at least this year, arn't scaring anybody. Pats fans are illusioned in thinking they're going to truly make so noise. They simply don't have enough defensive firepower to win it all. This is why you have a fool like Rex runnin of at the mouth, his usual. Honestly, I'm not impressed with the pats at all. If you really be truthful about it, they lucked into the superbowl last year, and unlike the Giants who were accused of the same exact thing, the Pats couldn't go to Ravens country and win again. The Giants on the other hand, shut all that talk from the 49ers and posters on this site. Big difference, when it comes down to it, the GMEN consistently walk thru the so called elite teams.....Pats, Pack, Niners....its that simple!

Careful, I might take that personally but coming from a Giants fan I'll just write it off to the opening day smack down you took from the Cowboys. Heh heh heh.

This is consistent with the whole team. Remember how they 'shut up' everyone after they beat Buffalo in the opener? Every win is a Super Bowl win for the Jets.

pats and jets always play close, but rexy needs to pipe it. After what happened to MY Seahawks, I wouldn't want to play the Patriots right now. 24-23 btw, go Hawks
