08:04 AM ET 10.16 | The Bears, having added tight end Brody Eldridge, may also have added a fullback. [Eldridge] said Monday he would "love" to play some fullback in the Bears' offense if the team needs his services in the backfield. The 6-5, 265-pound Eldridge gained the reputation of being a physical blocker during a two-year stint in Indianapolis where he started 16 games. However, Eldridge played strictly tight end for the Colts and hasn't lined up at fullback since his college days at Oklahoma. But the idea of Eldridge seeing a little time at fullback in Chicago doesn't seem out of realm of possibilities. ... "I think I can do everything and more," Eldridge said. "I hope to get in the backfield and play a little fullback."

Tight ends are the size of fullbacks now. Might as well use them that way.

Cutler has got to be happy about that - maybe the first thing he's been happy about in years.

When I was his age I could do everything, and I was immortal and invulnerable. Or course, I encountered reality pretty soon and learned better.

Cut him some slack and let him try a little fullback; if it works, great; if not, well, he's still a good tight end.
