John Daly doesn't have an equipment deal other than Winn grips, having split with TaylorMade-Adidas. Non-exempt for the second straight year, he plans to play the entire West Coast swing on sponsor's exemptions.

who WOULDN'T give this guy the exemption? He's still the most entertaining guy on the Tour (depending how entertaining you consider Tiger), and he's a huge fan favourite. He may not be the smartest, or the classiest, but he's the Everyman Pro golfer

Daly rules, even if he has to play on sponsor exemptions. If I was hosting a tourny, I'd be sure to have Daly there. You can argue that he brings in more fans than the likes of Tiger, Phil, or Vij...combined.

Justin, you obvisously do not follow golf that much because if you did you would realize Tiger brings 10x the amount of fans any other golfer does. Look at the TV ratings when Tiger is playing compared to when he is not playing! When Tiger plays the TV ratings are at an all time high for the year. On the other hand, there is no change in TV ratings when Daly plays.

Also, go to a tournament Tiger and Daly are playing in and look at the amount of people following each group. I will bet that there are 10x the amount of people following Tigers group.

I knew I was going to get jumped on for the previous comment. I suppose throwing Tiger in was a touch erroneous on my part. Fair enough. But I think it's safe to say that John is probably your next best bet other than local boys. I have never been to a PGA event so I can't speak from experience, but from what I read, Daly has a Nascaresque type following wherever he goes. Love him or hate him, he sells tickets. But ya, I take back my Tiger comment back. Clearly Tiger is the big show. My bad, I shouldn't be posting so early in the morning.

On a side note, my favorite golfer next to the late Payne Stewart has to be Calcavecchia. His turn around last year would have earned him comeback player honours had it not been for Stricker. He can't hit as long as he used to, but the guy can fire off some ridiculously low rounds. Daly and Villegas rank up there too.

Will this week ever end?
Safe sex could be a sponsor for Daly.

John need to take the game seriously. this means getting physically in shape and mentally ready to exceed expectations. to this point, he is an example of someone who has squandered a potentially great career.

He should get a Captain Morgan sponsorship and dress like a pirate.

you have to love Jahn Daly. Of all pro athletes, he's closer to us average folk than anyone else.

if he lost some weight, he could be a Budweiser Clidesdale.
