01:20 PM ET 10.16 | Most college football fans and observers had probably already assumed that former athletic director Tim Curley was long out of the picture at Penn State. Not until today, actually, when the school announced it won't renew his contract. Curley has been on leave since late last year, when he was charged with perjury for his role in the Jerry Sandusky disaster.

That whole place down there in Happy Valley needs cleaned out. It needs new blood. But that is what happens when you have a football coach there for 61 years that eventually came to run the university.

His contract expires in June. Too bad they can't get rid of him sooner.
