01:27 PM ET 10.16 | Changes are coming in Cleveland. After the owners approved Jimmy Haslam's purchase of the Browns, team president Mike Holmgren was said to be retiring. Now the general manager, Tom Heckert, isn't feeling safe either. Citing a source, the Cleveland Plain-Dealer reports Heckert is "not optimistic about surviving the ownership change." The same could be said for head coach Pat Shurmur.

The team is a mess, fire everyone.

Why should any of these guys feel safe? I'll make as many Cleveland jokes as anyone, but the re-booted Browns are not what the fans deserve.

IF the new owner kept the management that built this present mess of a team, then the owner should be fired!

They are just starting to gel, play out the season and see what happens!!!

Holgrem was always over-rated yo.

Reminiscent of Shanahan in that regard.

Yeah, but you don't see Shanny President of.... Wait.....

Might as well start looking for a whole new management and coaching team now. Avoid the rush in January.

Norv Turner might be on the cheap in january, might as well pick him up for OC and nothing else. Don't let him even look at the defense or the gameplan, just let him focus on the offense on the field, put him in a box the rest of the time.

Brandon Weeden better start chunking some TD's.

once the take over happens, I wouldn't mess too much with the team. The offense is building very nicely right now, once they add a few receivers it could be very good. They need help on defense, but it's too early to pull the plug on Shurmur for sure.

Maybe the Browns could swing a package deal and pick up AJ Smith as well. That will bring some continuity to the organization.

Only way things could go worse for the Browns is if their stadium burned down

Exactly!

This team is not laying down for anyone and even though they don't have the wins they have been in every game. Sunday showed us that they can put things together in the 4th qtr and finish a game strong!

I'm not saying that Shurmur and Heckert should stay on beyond this year but its in everyones best interest to not break up the core until they evaluate after the season.
