'Next Crosby' takes OHL by storm at 15

08:25 AM ET 10.17 | During the lockout, Sidney Crosby has spent some time watching junior hockey. Like everyone else, Crosby is blown away by 15-year-old Connor McDavid, whose reputation as a wunderkind during his formative years outside of Toronto is being fortified in Erie. Too young to drive, McDavid is taking the Ontario Hockey League by storm. "He looks like he's got it all," Crosby said. "When I watched him play, he reminded me of myself." ... McDavid is only the third player to receive "exceptional status," allowing him into the OHL at age 15. John Tavares, an eventual first overall pick by the New York Islanders in the 2009, was the first person to receive exceptional status.

QUOTE(#1):

By my estimations, the Leafs should still be finishing in the gutter and Brian Burke will be gone by 2015, so maybe??

Finally we agree on something about the Leafs Danny.

I hope he has Crosby's humble view of himself. Sounds like he'll be an All Star.

Well it's happened before. We both think they get way too much HNIC time, you because you despise watching them every weekend, me because after the first month of play it's akin to watching a drowning seal get clubbed while being doused with gasoline with a lit cigarette in it's mouth while an angry red fat man pours the rest of his Wild Turkey down it's throat and laughs deeply the words "Truculence MUAHHAHAHA".

(You think this is bad, you should see my nightmares DURING the season...)

LMFAO - You're on a roll today my friend.

You ever think of writing screenplays? I think I'm beginning to feel your pain.:)

How about a rom-com about a Cubs fan who falls for a hapless Leafs fan? Crying and the destruction of furniture ensues.

God I hope no CBC executive reads this.

Sure to be up for an Academy award. You may have missed your calling. Years from now I can say "I knew that guy when he was a Leaf's fan. And now he's a world famous director, and rich too." I'm serious, go for it. (You can cast that guy Bettman Sucks Eh? as the evil villain. Not much of a stretch there. :))

Who, having Ballard flashbacks.

Honestly, pity us Leafs fans. We have suffered through both Ballard AND the current regime. That is decades of frustration

"He looks like he's got it all," Crosby said. "When I watched him play, he reminded me of myself." ..

I guess he was out the day humility was taught?

Hey, I've always seen myself as the sensitive, benevolent neighbour.

(I made myself laugh.)

But Philly should be ready to chant "McDavid Sucks" if he goes to the Pens.
