03:36 PM ET 10.17 | Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones entered the 2012-13 NFL season with high hopes for his team and the hopes have not diminished, despite a 2-3 start to the year. Jones was speaking during a radio interview and stated his belief that the Cowboys are ready to compete for a title this year, per ESPN Dallas. "We've got to have some wins to make sure we're in the hunt, but I keep pointing out we're fresh off a world champion [Giants] that won nine of 16 ballgames last year," Jones said. "We know you want your team as healthy and as in sync as it can be as we get on into the end of the season. We know we've played one division game and won it. We got those guys [the Giants] coming back in here. We know that's going to be a big game for us."

Sure they can win it. The question is "Will they?", and the answer is likely "No."

They just look dis organized!!! Coaching staff has terrible clock Management, they plays look complicated and clumsy, the coaches don't have the team prepared properly, other than that they can win it all, with good kicking!!!

Forget about that. They need to be able to execute a two minute offense in order to get into range to kick the field-goal in the first place. The idea of playing with a sense of urgency just seems foreign to this team.

Yes, it sounds like JJ is blowing smoke out of his you-know-where, and maybe he is regarding his own team; but in general he is correct: in the last few years the team that has gotten healthy at the end of the season has made made the SB run, regardless of the regular season record. Giants, Packers, and Steelers have all won from the wild card slot.

i'm so sick of JJ's sh** talk that i'm finding myself losing interest in the team after almost 40 yrs of watching and loving the cowboys. i realize he's had success early in his ownership of this team, although it was not in any way related to his decisions (other than hiring Jimmy) but his constant addiction to the spotlight and need to express his idiot opinions of how well his team could potentially do this year (and yrs past) has only shown how far off his mental capacity has gone. if he would just shut up, stay in his owner's box and let his team play poor ball, it would be easier to accept, but his constant need to build up his struggling, average team is getting pathetic.
