04:36 PM ET 10.17 | Notre Dame "starter" (we think?) Everett Golson was cleared to practice in advance of the Irish's game against BYU after suffering a concussion against Stanford. It was Golson's injury that set up backup Tommy Rees for yet another game-saving drive late.

Rees saves the day after Golson injury. This might become ND's modus vivendi where their QB situation is concerned.

If Golson didn't get hurt in the Stanford game, I think the Trees win!!!

My guess is Piratey was seriously in purgatory at the end of that game. Watching a kid he can't stand, leading his beloved domers to victory.

BYU's chances of an upset just went up.

How anyone can deny that Tommy Rees is the better Quarterback, defies all fact and evidence.

rees is the bullpen qb-he was tommy turnover last year-i know that he has that experience yet he will revert back to tommy turnover if he stays in the game to long-golson has had turnovers also but in the end he has more speed and elusiveness and kelly needs to have a definititive no.1-golson in the end gives you more options than rees-im sure i will get skewered by some-oh well

It does seem like Tommy is enjoying a much higher level of success this year. Is it because he has matured and has a better feel for the game? or as mentioned in the quote, Is Tommy just geared towards a "closer" type of role, coming in off of the bench?
